Located in West Yorkshire Sandholme Sawmill is the home of Creative Care Limited. The mill, built in the eighteen hundreds, is one of the few left in Todmorden and used to be a woodworking shop manufacturing wooden bobbins for the big weaving sheds of Sandholme Mill across the road.
Now the mill is divided into two production areas. Downstairs we take laser and waterjet cut parts in steel and aluminium and craft them into our Patent pending light but strong chassis for the Safe&Sound range.
Upstairs is our sewing floor and offices, here we custom design you a product to fit as closely as possible to your needs. After the design phase the panels of tough PVC fabric and trim fabrics are cut and checked against your requirements before going to the sewing room. With sewing machines so tough they can sew though 6mm plywood! We join all the panels together and then finally erect the whole Safe&Sound for quality testing before packing onto a pallet for delivery.
From the Design to the manufacture of the frame and fabric, almost the whole product is produced on the premises, we feel that this is essential to avoid mistakes and problems with such bespoke products.
In the UK funding is normally available from the government, we are happy to work with you and your health care professional to obtain the equipment you need to ensure a less stressful home life. Full time council care for some people can cost up to £3000 per week so it is in everyone’s interest to help people care for their loved ones at home.
Charities are also a good source of funding for these products. Please look at our useful contacts section for a list of charities that may be of use. Please let us know which charities have been helpful to you and we will add them to our list.
